Savoir Adore

To know the love, the French say Savoir Adore. And not just those! The New York-based songwriter Paul Hammer also named his band, founded in 2007. Even his only constant member since then he has been searching for the perfect pop song with changing partners.

Hammers vision of successful pop music is a total rejection of genre clas- ses like calculated chartfutter or superficiality. At the same time, the songs should also be an indescribable distraction as well as a deep, penetrating listening. The sound palette is correspondingly broad from the beginning.

One hears the past and present simultaneously in Savoir Adore’s music. Typical 80s pop is part of his cocktail as well as modern club sounds. That is why there is a knife tip rock, dreampop, indie pop and occasionally even a touch of blackmusic rhythms. All together hugs the band with catchy melodies and catchy choruses.

First, the combo starts as a duo with hammer and co-singer Deidre Muro. In order to push each other and the individuality of their music, they both like to challenge themselves with spleenigen actions in this phase. One of them, for example, pretends to compose and record various pieces within a weekend without using acoustic instruments.

Two years later, Savoir Adore grew up on the stage to play the quintet, playing their debut “In The Wooded Forest”. During this time, they set the foundation for the prestigious NYC live band, which the sophisticated Big Apple audience particularly appreciates for their versatility.

2012 they cover the classic “Pop Goes The World” of the Men Without Hats and even land in the telecom advertising. But the associated popularity push does not prevent the break-up of the core duo Hammer / Muro. Since 2014 she is no longer part of the band.

Hammer has been running Savoir Adore since then under sole management. In order to continue receiving a wide range of input, he is also a part of various co-authors such as Leah Hayes and Lauren Zettler. Thus he makes a virtue out of necessity and in this way “The Love That Remains” even more colorful than all previous discs.
