Fall Out Boy is a Founded in 2001 alternative rock band from Wilmette, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. The band consists of guitarist Patrick Stump and Joe Trohman, bassist Pete Wentz and drummer Andy Hurley.

Band History

The beginnings

Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz met through her acting in the Chicago hardcore punk scene know. Already in their early teens, they played again and again in different bands, but never had a long existence. In 2001, she therefore decided to form a band that corresponded more to their youth idols such as Green Day, Descendents, The Smiths or The Offspring. As Trohman Patrick Stump met, he introduced him to Pete Wentz. They spoke after the initial contact about the band Neurosis, for both interested. 2002 – 2006

Through the great enthusiasm, they created in their performances, they were quickly motivated to record a first demo tape and this send it to various record companies – and immediately received encouragement. Supported by Uprising Records, they released in 2003 their first album Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out with Your Girlfriend. A little later signed Fall Out Boy then another record deal with Fueled by Ramen and published in the same year their second album Take This to Your Grave. With the singles Grand Theft Autumn (Where Is Your Boy) and Saturday the band landed its first successes and the album reached in America Silver status. The song Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over was used in Burnout 3: Takedown soundtrack.

In summer 2003, the band signed a further contract with Iceland Records. There they published on 18 May 2004, the acoustic EP My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue.

In early summer of 2005, they released the successor From Under the Cork Tree. Tremendous impetus was the album by the headlines in the Pete Wentz few weeks earlier had fallen when he almost died due to an overdose antidepressants. However, he later denied having committed the drugs attempt suicide. From Under the Cork Tree reached number 9 of the American charts, selling more than 68,000 units in the first week. The album was awarded in the US double-platinum units sold over 2.5 million alone in the United States. The Single Dance, Dance was in Burnout Revenge soundtrack used.

The Single Sugar, We’re Goin Down reached # 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. The right music video came with the fans well received and won several awards. The band was nominated in 2006 for a Grammy Award in the Best New Artist category. The next single A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More “Touch Me”, however, was unable to repeat the success of the first two singles.

The band performed along with other bands like The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, Panic 2005! at the Disco and Boys Night Out on the Nintendo Fusion Tour. It was followed by other performances at the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour, along with The All-American Rejects, Well-Known Secret, Hawthorne Heights and From First to Last.

2007: Infinity on High

Fall Out Boy album Infinity on High appeared on 2 March 2007 in Germany. In the US, the album debuted at # 1 on the Billboard 200 with over 260,000 units sold in the first week after release of the album. The first single from the album This Is not a Scene, It’s an Arms Race, rose in the first week at No. 54 in the German single charts. In the US, the single reached second place on the Billboard Hot 100. Thus it is the highest entry of a rock band since I Do not Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith in 1998. The video was on 19 December 2006 on MTV US Premiere. At MTV TRL it rose in the first week at No.. 1

In the US the album Infinity on High platinum and gold status in Australia has reached. The second single is the title Thnks fr th Mmrs. The video was on 23 March at the official band page World Premiere. The third single from the album is “The Take Over, the Breaks Over”.

At the age of 19 years Lady Gaga has signed with Def Jam Recordings a recording contract, but was disbanded after only three months. Shortly thereafter, she met the music producer RedOne, with whom she composed the song Boys Boys Boys.

Fall Out Boy took part in the Live Earth concerts on July 7, 2007 in New York City.

Her songs 7 Minutes in Heaven and Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers are part of the soundtrack of the computer game FlatOut. 2

Fall Out Boy toured the world after the publication of the Honda Civic Tour, to further promote the album. Fall Out Boy went on, among others, +44, Cobra Starship, The Academy Is … and Paul Wall.

On 18 March 2008 appeared on Fall Out Boy in Antarctica. Thus they were included as the first band that had an appearance on every continent in the Guinness Book of Records.

On 11 April 2008 their first live DVD was released, entitled Live in Phoenix. The DVD was recorded at a concert in Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix on June 22 of 2007. During the concert, the band Michael Jackson’s Beat It coverte, also John Mayer acted on this concert in addition as a guitarist.

Fall Out Boy are also on the album Paper Trail rapper T.I. the song to hear Out in the Cold.

2008: Citizens for Our Betterment

Pete Wentz launched on 18 August 2008 a viral campaign to promote the new album Folie à Deux. The campaign started when the site of Decaydance Records by organizing Citizens for Our Betterment (CFOB) was hacked. The project failed, however, as Wentz found out that it was not his organization had hacked the site. On August 19, Ashlee Simpson widespread in the public that the site has been hacked. The band Copeland also launched a campaign with the same background as Fall Out Boy.

2008: Folie à Deux

Fall Out Boy released on 12 December 2008 their fifth studio album Folie à Deux, which from the sound of her very different from its predecessors. The album had a lot of artists like Elvis Costello, Lil Wayne, Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, Doug, Alex DeLeon of The Cab, William Beckett of The Academy Is …, Debbie Harry of Blondie and Pharrell Williams.

In this album the singles I Do not Care, What a Catch, Donnie and America’s Suitehearts contained.

In January 2009, the Believers Never launched The Tour Part Deux with Cobra Starship, Metro Station, All Time Low and Hey Monday. In addition, Fall Out Boy came with Kanye West and Kid Rock at the Youth Ball on the inauguration of Barack Obama.

Remixed, Retouched, rehabbed and Retoxed published: On 27 April 2009 the EP America’s Suitehearts was. It contains a remix from Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus. Fall Out Boy were with Weezer, the opening acts of blink-182S Summer Reunion Tour of 2009.

2009: Greatest Hits – Believers Never Die

October 9, 2009 announced Fall Out Boy on your website, the publication of a best-of album on which was published on November 16 and 17 worldwide. The album contains all the singles of the band and the new song Alpha Dog. In addition three bonus tracks are included, one of which was previously unpublished.

2010 – 2012: In addition to projects

In 2010, the band announced a break indefinitely. During this time the band members to other projects devoted. Patrick Stump published on 18 October 2011 his solo album Soul Punk, but withdrew a few months later from the spotlight back to to work more as a producer. Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley founded with other musicians the band The Damned Things and published in 2010 a debut album called Iconiclast. In 2012, Joe Trohman toured also with the Bandwith Knives, whose first album Schadenfreude was published on 17 April 2012 Design. Andy Hurley, meanwhile, was active in the band Enabler. The band released in the summer of 2012 the debut album All Hail the Void. Pete Wentz founded the band Black Cards, along with Bebe Rexha and two other musicians. After the departure of guitarist Rexhas and Spencer Peterson, the style of the band changed dramatically. BlackCards occurred now for two (Wentz and Peterson) as Electronic Pop DJ duo and published in early 2012 and a mixtape in July 2012, the EP Use Your Disillusion.

2013: reunification and Save Rock and Roll

On 4 February 2013, the band announced that after three years break was imminent reunification and an album release titled Save Rock and Roll is scheduled for May, 2013. At the same time was released with My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) a first single on the internet. As announced on 14 February 2013, the album was published on April 12, 2013.

The Young Blood Chronicles

On the day of the official reunification, they released a music video for the first single My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up). Each song on the album, there will be a music video. All these music videos are linked by a coherent action. In the first video old CDs, instruments and records are burned. At the end of the video you see tied up the band and sit with sacks on their heads back in a van. The second video for song Phoenix prequel to the first video.
